Iowa City Learns is the Iowa City area’s premier junior high and high school age tutoring service.  New during the 2009-2010 school year, Iowa City Learns was called, “A great idea!” Our service was “terrific,” our prices were “very reasonable,” and our tutors were“clearly very smart, but also patient and understanding.” (Read more testimonials here)  We’re proud to report that not a whole lot has changed.  In our first year of operation, we helped almost fifteen families with hundreds of lessons.  We saw grades rise immediately.  Many families were so pleased with our service they hired additional tutors for other subjects.

The average GPA of an Iowa City Learns tutor is 3.98 out of 4.0 and the average ACT score is 34.  These student-tutors are not just peers, but they are also role models.  Iowa City Learns tutors will now attend Carleton, Columbia and Yale.  They have won National Merit Scholarships and aced the ACT.  They are Valedictorians, varsity athletes and debate state champions.  They are competent tutors who can take a complicated idea, break it down and explain in the terms that teachers want students to know and that your son or daughter can understand.
