What Can Your Child Learn?

Iowa City Learns is a new educational service dedicated to elevating academic achievement in Iowa City.  Founded by Zach Wahls and co-managed by Nic Jewell, both West High alumni and University of Iowa students, Iowa City Learns believes that peer tutoring allows students to connect on a deeper intellectual level.  We believe that, although many teachers do an admirable job in the classroom, students often require additional help mastering the material.

The fact is that teachers face increasingly large class sizes and page upon pages of work every night, outside of daily classroom activities.  Additional help, focused on your child’s strengths and natural abilities, is often the missing ingredient to real academic success.  With Iowa City Learns, your child is seen by our tutors as a peer, as an individual.

As a team, we believe in hard work, patience and understanding.  We acknowledge that, while it is truly grasping the concepts that matters, grades are increasingly important in today’s competitive academic environment.  Having learned this ourselves, we are able to help your child reach the grade he or she deserves without compromising academic integrity.
